Barnaby Johns and his avant-garde theatre collective steps into the breach when the London Shakespeare Company fails to arrive on the opening night of their hit touring production of Macbeth.
Barnabyâs got problems. First, his Macbeth goes missing, then his next choice for leading man wants to leave the collective, one of his stalwarts wants to play every role (and Richard III), then his leading lady only wants to play one role... and then he has to face the stage manager of the original production to convince her that his Aussie version of the play is worth it. And if thatâs not enough, then he has to step on stage. God forbid!
Against a faithful re-telling of Shakespeareâs Macbeth, JUTE creates a modern masterpiece of ambition, inevitability and the acceptance of fate, undermined by comedy, clowns and chaos.
